Interlude I

“Will you enjoy a weekend in nature?”
“I would, but I must depart.”
“Wherefore?”
“A pilgrimage home, just for two days.”
“Tell me of your tale when you return.”
“If you tell me of yours as well.”
She smiles and promises, “I await your homecoming.”
I left for my journey eager and sudden.
